Small Groups

As a church focused on making disciples for Jesus Christ, we place a high priority on small-group community. Since Jesus Himself has shown us the way, we're convinced that making disciples is not about filling people's heads full of theoretical knowledge, or imposing ironclad rules for every occasion. Rather, it's about "doing life together," and thus helping each other to follow Jesus.

 

That's what our small group ministries are about. They are places where, in the context of warm and caring community, we are formed and transformed as followers of Jesus. We grow in our capacity to love God and others through the conversations we share and the loving acceptance we experience in these groups.

 

Discipleship is a journey of constant change and renewal, in which we learn and grow through all the experiences of life, whether they are wonderful or horrible, or somewhere in between! We need to journey together on this road, for as John Wesley once said, "It is a blessed thing to have fellow travelers to the New Jerusalem. If you do not find any you must make them, for none can travel this road alone"!

 

We encourage you to get involved, so that, as Paul prays for his readers in Ephesians 3, "you'll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God."
